The quickest and easiest way to find e-journal articles is to use QCat Article Search. This will search across all full-text articles available at Queen’s. Select the Article Search tab on the Library Homepage.
If you are looking for a specific article, just enter the title into the search box. For searches on a topic, just enter some keywords; the results page will give you plenty of options to limit and improve your search.
For those doing more specialist searches (eg for a Postgraduate dissertation or thesis), it is recommended that you use one of the bibliographic databases available. See Databases or contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org for further details.
Check QCat Library Catalogue to see if we have a print journal in the library (NB search for the title of the journal, not the title of the article). QCat will give you the location and the shelfmark of the journal. You can then go to the shelves and browse the volumes of the journal to find a specific article; make sure you have a note of the bibliographic details so you can find the article (ie author, title of article, title of journal, volume number, issue numbers, page numbers).
Print journals cannot be borrowed but articles may be photocopied or scanned, subject to copyright restrictions. Journals in The McClay Library are shelved on Mobile Shelving; see video opposite for help on moving the shelves.
Back issues of print journals are held in the Mobile Shelving areas on Floor 1 (Shelfmarks A-H), Floor 2 (Shelfmarks J-P) and Floor 3 (Shelfmarks Q-Z).
