The Library has 1,000s of print books for borrowing, and e-books for reading on-line.
All books are listed in HONNI Search, accessible via the HONNI homepage, which can be used to:
► Search for specific books e.g. Nelson Textbook of Pediatrics
► Search for books on a specific subject e.g. pediatrics
On the HONNI homepage, click the Books tab, and type a book title or subject into the box. Click Search, and relevant results from the catalogue will be displayed.
Before proceeding, it's important to click the yellow 'Login for full access to HONNI resources' message at the top of the results page, and log-in with your HONNI number and password.
Further information about finding print and e-books can be found to the right.
If a HONNI Search result is marked as a Book, then it is a print book that you can borrow.
A list of all copies of the book will appear under the book details (you may need to click Show More to see all copies).
The list of copies will indicate the branch of the Library where each copy is kept, so that you can go to the branch to borrow the book. If you can't get to the branch, please contact your local HSC library, as it may be possible to have books posted to your work address.
You can also reserve books for collection - please contact your local HSC library for more details.
Most HSC members may borrow 15 books for up to 4 weeks. Click the link below for more details.
If a catalogue result is marked as an eBook, then you can read it on-line using a variety of devices.
To read an e-book, click the Online Access link under the book details.
You will be taken to the publisher website that provides access to the e-book. There are lots of different publisher websites, but most will allow you to search within e-books or skip directly to individual chapters. Depending on the e-book, you may also be able to download sections as PDFs.
As well as the full text, HONNI e-books also contain the same figures, tables and full-colour illustrations of the print versions of the books.
