Books
Staff should contact their Subject Librarian to ensure that the Library holds the appropriate books and readings to support their teaching.
Staff and students undertaking research are encouraged to propose books, or other single-purchase material, e.g. DVDs, in support of their research interests.
Book proposals can be submitted in several ways:
- by completing the New Book Suggestion Form
- by emailing your Subject Librarian
- by sending annotated publishers’ catalogues and flyers to your Subject Librarian
Staff and students in some schools may need to check with their Library Representative before submitting proposals directly to their Subject Librarian.
Journals and Databases
Unlike book purchases, journal and database purchases represent a significant, ongoing financial commitment. As a result, the Library usually cannot take out a new journal or database subscription without cancelling an existing one of a similar value. Please contact your Subject Librarian if you would like to discuss the purchase of a new journal or database.
