The Biomedical Library is located on the ground floor of the MBC. Go through the main door, below and to the right of the MBC sign in the photograph above. In front of you will be a reception desk. The Biomedical Library entrance is to the right of this desk.

The Borrower Services Desk is through the Library entrance.

The MBC is located on the Lisburn Road, across from Elmwood Avenue and close to Belfast City Hospital. 

If travelling by car, visitors to the Biomedical Library should use one of Belfast City Hospital's multistorey car parks.

Metro bus 9 runs along the Lisburn Road, stopping close to the MBC.

The Biomedical Library offers:

  • A range of print books and journals, particularly relevant to medicine
  • Self-service machine for quick issuing and returning of books
  • Quiet study areas
  • Individual study spaces
  • 1 group study room, bookable online (click Study Spaces above for more information)
  • Nearby student computing area, with PCs offering internet access and Office programs installed
  • Laptops for borrowing (for use in Library only)
  • Wi-Fi for registered Library members
  • Self-service printing, photocopying and scanning
    • Printing credit can be loaded on to your Library membership card, or a visitor card available for £2 from the Biomedical Library's cash uploader machine
  • Cafe Clements close by on ground floor of the MBC
