Your own LibGuides may have a further recommended resources, many of which are freely available.

Consider Open Access repositories such as DOAJ, CORE and ROAR.

Other Library catalogues can tell you if an item exists (particularly a book).

WorldCat : A detailed catalogue of the holdings of many world libraries
Copac : Academic catalogue of the holdings of academic institutions across the UK and Ireland. Very detailed records.
 

For items not owned by QUB (articles or books), it is possible to get an Inter-library loan.
