When you work from home, you may sometimes be asked to pay for access to an article or an e-book. If this happens, check if you can get free access via the library's subscriptions instead:
- our e-resource access guide shows how to sign in to e-books, e-journals and databases from home
- if you like searching Google Scholar, you can set it up to access full-text articles from home
- you can also install the QUB Library proxy bookmarklet in your browser for off campus access to e-resources
The Learning Development Service at Queen’s provides academic skills support to undergraduate students. Support is available both on-course, as part of taught degree programmes, and via individual one-to-one appointments. Academic skills support offered includes guidance on time management, exam preparation, academic writing, referencing, academic integrity, and research.
An online Transitions Skills for University package is available on Canvas to support learning and progress. It provides resources that can help with everyday study, from techniques for academic writing to tips for preparing for assessments.
