Film: Finding Book Chapters

Finding Book Chapters

Book chapter references can be confusing as they will usually contain two or more surnames and two titles (the title of the chapter and the title of the book).

You can quickly identify a chapter reference as it will usually have a publisher, place of publication, and page numbers.

Finding Book Chapters on Library Search

Some book chapters can be found on Library Search when you look for the chapter author and title:

Inglis, I. (2009) 'Revolution', in Womack, K. (ed.) The Cambridge Companion to the Beatles. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, pp. 112-124.

However, many chapters (even those that appear in some e-books) are not findable on Library search.  You will find chapters more effectively by searching for the book in which they appear (i.e., by searching for the editor and title of the book, usually in italics).

Inglis, I. (2009) 'Revolution', in Womack, K. (ed.) The Cambridge Companion to the Beatles. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, pp. 112-124.
