Distance Learners: Accessing resources remotely

Access electronic library resources from off campus

Most electronic library resources, such as e-journals, e-books, and databases, can be accessed from off-campus, regardless of location.  It is important to use the link provided via the library as this will allow you to connect to the resource as a Queen's Library user.  The video below will show you how to access e-books, journals and databases from off-campus.

 

 

Accessing geo-restricted resources

Some important websites are geo-restriced which means they either cannot be accessed outside of a particular geographic area, full access is restricted, or additional licensing is required.  Generally, you can use the Queen's Student Desktop to access such resources, as this will connect you to the resource via the Queen's network.
