Journals contain up to date, peer-reviewed articles on a given topic.  Below is a short online tutorial demonstrating how to search for a journal using the Library Catalogue.

Using the inter-library loan service (ILL)

If you cannot access an article through the Library you can use the inter-library loan service to request the article.  Below is a short online tutorial to explain how to do this.

Keep up-to-date with key journals by setting up a Zetoc Alert

Zetoc is an excellent current awareness service run by the British Library whereby contents pages of new issues of your favourite journals are emailed directly to you.

You can now access papers in journals subscribed by Queen's University via Read by QxMD, a journal discovery app that enables you to:

  • connect seamlessly on your mobile device to papers in open access and Healthcare Library journals

  • download PDF full text of papers without needing to log in repeatedly

 

In addition personlisation features on Read by QxMD you will be able to keep up to date by:

  • setting up My Journals for your favourite journals 

  • set up alerts for My Keywords

  • searching for and following Collections

  • the more you use it the Featured Feed section will tailor recommended articles based on your profile and trending paper
