It is not essential to use EndNote for reference management. Other, free reference management tools are available. Two of the most popular are Mendeley and Zotero.
Also, premium systematic review tools such as Covidence and Rayyan may offer some of the same functionality as reference management tools.
However, if you use one of these alternative tools, please be aware that the Library is able to provide training on, and support for, EndNote only.
Also, while the Library previously offered access to RefWorks, this is no longer available and therefore not supported.
You are welcome to use any alternative packages, but Queen's only supports EndNote. So, if you experience problems using other reference management software, your subject librarian probably won't be able to advise.
