The Library has signed up to a Read & Publish agreement with the American Chemical Society. The deal began on the 1st January 2022 and will end on the 31 December 2024.

Open Access publishing will be unlimited for 2024.

Cambridge Prisms and Research Directions

Cambridge Prisms and Research Directions are two new series of OA journals designed to reflect the research process, address real-world challenges, and build connections across disciplines. Both series operate open peer review, have open data mandates and follow open standards.

This is a 1 year pilot that runs until the 31st December 2024. Unlimited publishing for Queen's corresponding authors.

The Library has signed up to a Read & Publish agreement with Elsevier. The deal began on the 1st January 2022 and will end on the 31st December 2024.

Unlimited open access publishing for QUB corresponding authors publishing in Elsevier's Core-hybrid, Cell Press, and the Lancet titles (hybrid only).

Authors publishing in Elsevier's fully open access journals will have to pay an article processing charge (APC). Queen's corresponding authors are entitled to a 15% discount on the APC. Please visit Queen's Gold Open Access page to see if your research funder has provided Queen's with funds to pay your APC.

Future Science Group (FSG) has joined Taylor & Francis. From 1st June 2024, the former Future Science Group titles will be known as the Expert Medicine collection.

Unlimited open access publishing for QUB corresponding authors in all former FSG journals. All article types (excluding Drug Evaluation articles and content/research sponsored or funded by pharma/biotech).

The Library has signed up to a Read & Publish agreement with the Geological Society. The deal began on the 1st January 2021 and will end on the 31st December 2025.

Overview

The Library has signed up to a Read & Publish agreement with the Institute of Physics (IOP). The deal was renewed on the 1st January 2024 and will end on the 31st December 2025.

Publish criteria

Eligible Authors: Queen's corresponding authors.

Journals covered: Any IOP hybrid journal & fully OA title with the exception of journals published on behalf of the American Astronomical Society.

Article type covered: All primary research articles, including research papers, special issue articles, letters and review articles are eligible for inclusion under the terms of the license.

Article allocation: Unlimited 

Journals in lists A, B, C, and D covered via Queen's agreement.

*Reports on Progress in Physics, will only include primary research articles within the publishing element of the license.

The Library has signed up to a Read & Publish agreement with SAGE. The deal began on the 1st January 2023 and will end on the 31st December 2024.

Unlimited open access publishing for QUB corresponding authors in SAGE hybrid journals only. Excludes some article types, including, book reviews, and commercially sponsored articles.

Queen's corresponding authors will receive a 20% discount on APCs for fully Gold OA journals

Overview

The Library has signed up to a Read & Publish agreement with Springer Nature. The deal began on the 1st January 2023 and will end on the 31st December 2025. 

The deal brings together Springer, Palgrave Macmillan, and Nature Research journals into one Read and Publish agreement.

Unlimited OA publishing for QUB corresponding authors in 2051 Springer, Academic and Palgrave Macmillan journals.

Nature Journals (Hybrid)

Open Access publishing for QUB corresponding authors is included in Nature Research journals. A consortium level cap is applicable.

The Library has signed up to a Read & Publish agreement with Taylor & Francis. The deal was renewed on the 1st January 2024 and will end on the 31st December 2025.

For F1000 Research and Routledge Open Research the following are covered: including but not limited to Research Articles, Method Articles, Antibody Validation Articles, Reviews, Systematic Reviews, Clinical Practice Articles, Case Reports, Opinion Articles.

Overview

The University Library is signed up to a read and publish deal with Wiley. This two-year agreement runs from January 2024 until December 2025.

Overview

The Library has signed up to a Read & Publish agreement with Wolters Kluwer. The deal began on the 1st January 2022 and will end on the 31 December 2024.

Capped open access publishing for QUB corresponding authors in select hybrid journals.

Title exclusions:

Journal of the American College of Surgeons and titles within the JCO bundle are excluded from this Agreement.
