News: Queen's pre-pay agreement with PLOS ended on 1st January 2025.
This means articles published in PLOS ONE, PLOS Genetics, PLOS Pathogens, PLOS Computational Biology, PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases, PLOS Digital Health and PLOS Complex Systems will no longer automatically be covered for open access by Queen's.
If your article has been funded by one of the following, Queen's can still arrange the payment for you.

UKRI Open Access Block Grant
UKRI has given the University a block grant to support the cost of gold open access. Please note that this grant can only be used for fully open access journals. UKRI no longer permit block grant funds to be used for non-open access publication fees, such as page and colour charges. Please email the Open Research Team before submission to ensure funds are available and your journal is compliant with UKRI's new open access policy.

WELLCOME TRUST Open Access Block Grant
The Wellcome Trust has given the University a block grant to support the cost of gold Open access. Please email the Open Research Team before submission to ensure funds are available.

BHF Open Access Block Grant
The British Heart Foundation has given the University a block grant to support the cost of gold open access. Please email the Open Research Team before submission to ensure funds are available.
