Open Access: The Research Portal

This guide is intended to provide advice on open access to researchers

Queen's Research Portal

What is the Research Portal?

The Research Portal is the University's open-access institutional repository. When you deposit your publications in Pure, the Library's Open Research Team will make them available on the Research Portal.

We will ensure the document is copyright-compliant and will apply the correct licenses and embargoes. Your documents will not be made publicly available until the Open Research Team has reviewed the Pure record.

The Queen's University Belfast Research Portal Policy was approved by the Open Research Group and updated April 2024. The Policy reflects the University's commitment to sharing and disseminating Queen's research. It outlines the scope of the repository, the researcher's responsibility, our take-down procedure and our validation workflows. This policy is to ensure public access to published scholarly research and increase the impact of Queen's research activities.
