Clearing your cache can also improve the speed and performance of your browser, as well as resolving some e-resource problems.

Check that your browser is set to accept cookies. Many databases require the use of cookies and won't work if they are blocked.
A cookie is a file created by a web site that stores information on your computer, such as site-specific preferences when visiting that site. Some sites may not work properly when cookies are disabled.
1. Select the Menu button and select 'Settings'.
2. Select Privacy & Security panel. This is where you can view settings for 'Enhanced Tracking Protection', which includes cookies.
3. If Standard is selected, this is the default and all cookies are enabled.
4. If Strict is selected, choose either Standard or Custom.
5. If Custom is selected, either uncheck Cookies or select the setting to only block Cross-site tracking cookies — includes social media cookies.
6. Close the about:preferences page. Any changes made are automatically saved.

If you have pop-up blocker enabled on your web browser, you may need to disable it to view content from certain platforms.

2. Select Privacy & Security panel.
3. Under Permissions uncheck Block pop-up windows. This will completely disable the pop-up blocker.
4. If you click on Exceptions a dialogue box will open.
5. You can opt to add a website to the exceptions list, remove a website from the exceptions list or remove all of the websites in the exceptions list.
