Academic journals contain up-to-date academic research and are generally published on a regular basis. Articles published in academic journals usually include sections such as abstracts, introductions, methods, results, discussions, and references.
The QUB Library subscribes to thousands of journal titles and these are all available via Library Search or via our Journal Search.
Articles from academic journals that the Library provides will be:
•Peer reviewed
•Free to access from on and off campus – you can’t use Google to access as wide a range of articles.
•Relevant to specific topics.
•Up-to-date.
You can look for specific journal articles, or articles on a topic, from QUB Library's e-journal subscriptions by using Library Search. For more detailed and systematic searching it is recommended that you use databases, as they cover a wider range of content than Article Search. For help on using databases, please contact your subject librarian.
If you wish to browse a particular journal, Library Search will find journals by title - just enter keywords from the journal title you are looking for.
Library Search allows you to search right for articles from across the Library's electronic journal subscriptions. Library Search is useful for quickly finding full-text articles on any topic.
