Dawsonera provides access to e-books from different publishers and covers a wide range of subjects.

Computers on Campus

If you are using a computer on campus or in a shared working environment you should select the read online option. 

If you are reading an Dawsonera e-book on computers on campus, you do not need to download any additional software, just click on the read online icon  and the book will open.

Personal devices or computers

You should ensure that you have the most up-to-date web browser (IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, or Opera) for reading Dawsonera e-books, no additional software is needed.

Copying and printing from Dawsonera

When you click on the read online icon  the e-book will open in a new window.

Click on Copy in top right

This will display the copy limit for that particular title.

You can select an area or an entire page.

Selected text will be copied to Clipboard.

Click on Print in the top right.

Your print allowance for that particular title will display.

What software do I need to download a Dawsonera e-book on my personal device or computer?

**​If you are using a computer on campus or in a shared working environment you should select the option to 'Read Online'

Dawsonera e-books can be downloaded to a personal computer or laptop for reading offline.

Download options are displayed when the Download icon    is clicked. You should create an Adobe ID to be used with the software.

If you are using

iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod)

Android (Phone, Tablet)


Why do I get a message 'Add to queue'?

Some of Dawsonera e-books are restricted to a single or multiple concurrent users. If the limit for a particular title is reached, you will see the text Add to queue

Click on Add to queue and enter your QUB email address. You will be notified by email when the book is available. 

When you input your email address you should see the text In queue.
