VLeBooks

VLeBooks provides access to e-books across a range of disciplines. 

Reading VLeBooks on campus

If you are using a computer on campus or in a shared working environment you should select the option to 'Read Online'

If you are reading a VLeBook on computers on campus, you do not need to download any additional software, just click on 'Read Online' and the book will open in a reader view.

What software do I need to download a VLeBook on my personal device or computer?

If you are using a computer on campus or in a shared working environment you should select the option to 'Read Online'

If an ebook is available to download on VLeBooks on your device it will be for 1 day only. 

To download VLeBooks to your personal device or computer you will need to install Adobe Digital Editions. This application allows you to read eBooks protected by Adobe DRM. Please go to What is Adobe Digital Editions? if you need further help with this.

Downloading VLeBooks

Please follow the steps below to access VLeBooks.

Downloading on Android 13 or higher

If you are using an Android that is running the latest software (Android 13 or higher), you will need to use the PocketBook app.

Why do I see a no credits message when trying to read a VLE e-book?

If you are trying to read or download a VLeBook and you see the message:

Not enough credits available to view this book.
or
Not enough credits to download this book.

 

 

It may be that the limited number of ‘credits’ purchased for the ebook have been used.

If you see this message, please email your Subject Librarian or eresources@qub.ac.uk with details of the e-book you are trying to access.
