Document Summarisation is a Generative AI (GenAI) feature on Nexis. Document Summarisation creates a concise summary to instantly capture the key points of a document.
Please note: you must always consult your School, module instructor or supervisor's guidelines on the use of AI as some courses may restrict or prohibit the use of generative AI in academic work. QUB Position on AI offers University guidance for staff and students.
Document Summarisation on Nexis will display when you are successfully authenticated to the library link for Nexis with your Queen's University Belfast credentials. When you retrieve results from a search on Nexis summaries are viewable via Preview option. Document Preview will present a Summary pane where available. Summaries of certain content may be unavailable due to publisher's preferences. Document Summarisation is currently only available for English-language News content.
